My Favorite Poem

When you feel sad and betrayed
Who can you count on every single day?
When you feel lost and alone
Who will be there for you in every way?
When you've made mistakes and bad decisions
Who can you count on to tell you you're wrong?
When you feel you can't go on
Who will be there with a feel-better song?
Look into your heart and you will find
That person you can trust is not far away.
Look deep into yourself, don't give up,
For if you do, it's yourself you'll betray.
When you're looking for answers
To all your questions and dreams,
There is one person you can count on,
It's impossible, I know, it seems.
But take a few moments to look deeper inside.
Look into your heart and there you will see.
You'll be surprised when you find out
That you've been looking at ME.

The reason why I have chosen this poem is because it touches the inner most feelings of my heart. One thing that is needed to everyone is one friend and without a friend to be there for you, it becomes hard to bear the fact that you think as if you are alone. There is always one person who is there and will be there through the hardest times in your life. He/she will help you and guide you through a place that you will appreciate later on in life and stop and think to yourself and laugh about them.
Friends are there for you and you must appreciate the fact that they are there for you. It is not always fun and laughter that comes with friendship, but also sorrow and tears that would often get you guys even closer. Never leave a friend feeling left behind, for it will also become known to yourself that you have been torn apart by little reasons in a short matter of time. Even after you have gone through all those times of hardship in order to get so far, it is a simple mistake that leads and builds up onto a bigger mistake if you do not forgive and be forgiven.

My Favorite Book

My favorite book was titled “The five people you meet in Heaven”. At first when I had read the cover of the book, I was thinking of how it would not have been much of a book to read at all; however, the interesting part about this book is that it starts out as a day where everything seems to be going as the usual. Eddy “the maintenance” is now 80 years old and has been the owner of the amusement park ever since he was around his thirties. As he was remembering his past experiences while relaxing, his eyes suddenly jerks open from the sound of a lady screaming. One of the cables from the Ferris wheel have been broken and now it was a race against time that would determine the fate of the people in the Ferris wheel. Although they were managed to help all the people inside it, as the cable became loose and snapped, there was a little kid that was helplessly frozen in place from fear and was just below the Ferris wheel when Eddy raced into action, moving as fast as he could and in desperate situation he leaped to push the girl so that at least she would be saved instead of him.
The experience that he endures during his time in “heaven” is the part where all of the important events occurred in order for him to understand many of his past mistakes and regrets to forgive the burden that is within his heart.
